The Verticals.
One Standard.
Battery storage, data centres and green hydrogen: three markets, one development standard. What follows is the public depth: countries, orders of magnitude, and where each vertical stands.
Stand-Alone Storage, built to institutional standards.
Developed to institutional standard
Stand-Alone Battery Storage in the Nordics, Iberian Peninsula, Eastern and Southern Europe, developed to institutional legal and technical due-diligence standards.
Storage is older than the market
UNIVERSAL KRAFT has been building compressed-air storage since 2018 through a dedicated company, alongside pumped hydro and hydrogen storage. The battery unit is a business line of its own, not a side project of a solar developer.
No technology commitment is published: cell chemistry and suppliers are part of the procurement process, not of a website.
Powered Land.
Not a map.
Powered land in the Nordics and the DACH region: climate advantage, hydro- and wind-backed grids, fibre and district-heating off-take for waste heat. Sites are qualified by distance to connection, indicated capacity, connection cost and land suitability: the same test the group has applied to every technology since 2000.
UH2: three lead projects on two continents.
Three lead projects
UH2, UNIVERSAL KRAFT’s hydrogen company since 2021, develops large-scale hydrogen and ammonia production. The lead projects are in Spain (165 MW phase one, supported by an EU grant), in Brazil (260 MW) and in Canada (165 MW).
Industrial end markets
Hydrogen for steel and heat, ammonia as an energy carrier and as fertiliser feedstock: a market that already consumes some 200 million tonnes a year. The demand is industrial, not speculative.
Permits, grid and contracts first. Capital follows evidence.
